// About Us
Building practical AI solutions for real businesses
AABS brings students from every major together to build, discuss, and deploy intelligent systems through hands-on projects, professional networking, and work with local businesses.
What members do
Established in 2025, AABS connects Cal State LA students with local business owners to implement practical AI workflows. Members can work on active client projects, build technical skills, attend speaker sessions and career workshops, and connect with students across Computer Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, and other majors. They can also attend workshops that teach how AI tools are used across different fields and in everyday jobs.
Cal State LA and ELAC collaboration
AABS is a hybrid organization working with East Los Angeles College on student research, local community engagement, and a shared business model. This effort includes plans for dedicated AI compute resources at both campuses.
Industry learning access
AABS participates in NVIDIA's Deep Learning Institute program and uses NVIDIA training materials to support student learning. Through Cal State LA's relationship with SAP and the club's faculty advisor, members also gain exposure to SAP software, data, and learning resources.

Helping local businesses evaluate their operational bottlenecks and implement straightforward AI tools for scheduling, customer management, and inventory tracking.
Shared Compute Infrastructure
Planning and maintaining hardware resources at Cal State LA and ELAC to ensure students have local access to GPU compute power.
Practical Workflow Automation
Building custom scripts and lightweight tools that automate document processing, financial analysis, and reporting tasks.
Research Community Models
Designing sustainable engagement frameworks alongside ELAC faculty to connect academic research with community economic development.
